PHOTON® – proven in practice!
PHOTON® – fertilizers in fruit growing
Physiological effects of stress factors in fruit growing – What can PHOTON® do?
- Reduction of cold stress, improved fruit set after frost
- Reduction of damage caused by plant protection and fertilisation measures
- Reduction of russeting
- Reduction of heat stress, reduction of sunburn
- Even fruit development, improvement of fruit firmness
- Promotion of colouring, depending on variety, region and weather
- Improvement of (internal) fruit quality by promoting calcium efficiency
- Goals: Securing yield under dry conditions and improving fruit firmness

Application of PHOTON® at agricultural consulting Jäck
Apple Trees: Wellant and Boskoop
- In various trials, an improvement in the fruit firmness of apples was observed
- Additionally, an improvement in calcium uptake and the effectiveness of calcium foliar fertilizers was shown (keyword: bitter pit coefficient)

Application:
For sufficient, timely absorption of the active ingredient through the leaves of the apple tree and improved calcium incorporation into the fruit, application should begin in the late bud or early blossom stage (BBCH 61).
The treatment can then be carried out at intervals of about 3 weeks until apple harvest to achieve further protective effects on the fruit.
Application Recommendation:
Preventive use from the beginning of flowering (BBCH 61)
- 40 g/ha (or volumetrically with dosing aid: 60 ml/ha) + additive
- 4 – 6 applications every 3 weeks

PHOTON® – fertilisers in potato cultivation
Goal:
Improvement of tuber formation and tuber growth even under stress conditions, e.g., cold and heat
Application:
Dosage 20 g/ha per application, treated 3 or 4 times
Yield Estimation:
Harvest:
For each variety, 2 replications each, 2.66 x 0.75 m (2 sq m area)
Weights and tuber counts (grouped by tuber diameter) are given as averages.
3 Locations / Varieties:
Location 1: Madeira, Milwa
Location 2: Gala, Wega, Princess
4 applications each at intervals of 2-3 weeks
Location 3: Soraya, Goldmarie
3 applications each at short intervals
Application Timing:
Best results are achieved when the first application is made early, ideally from the stage “plant height hand-width” to BBCH 15/16.
IMPORTANT: Uniform emergence of quality seed potatoes, preferably pre-sprouted.
PHOTON® – fertilizer in sugar beet cultivation
Advantages of PHOTON® under normal environmental conditions
The application of PHOTON® fertilizer via the sugar beet leaf increases turgor at normal water levels and dry weights by about 7-8% compared to the control without PHOTON®.
We see better turgor values when the product is absorbed through the root in the drench variant.
Advantages of PHOTON® under drought stress
The prolonged reduction in water supply leads to a statistically significant reduction in turgor as well as dry weights of leaves and roots. The application of PHOTON® can improve turgor over 2-3 weeks, but not the final values of dry weights.
The result shows that the product should be applied in a timely manner before the onset of stress factors.

Due to the low application rate and the very good and broad compatibility with herbicides, insecticides and fungicides as well as foliar fertilizers, the PHOTON® fertilizer opens up new possibilities for securing yield and quality even under stress conditions.
The prerequisite is an early start of applications either at sowing or in the early juvenile stage during weed control, with the aim of carrying out 3-4 applications with 40 g/ha + additive in spray sequence at intervals of about 3-4 weeks. This results in interesting application possibilities not only in classic integrated plant protection, but also in combination with the new CONVISO Smart concept or applications with the ECOROBOTIX ARA system in combination with reduced application rates.Field trial sugar beet
Hameln (NORDZUCKER) | Rommerskirchen (Pfeifer Langen, Jülich, part of NORDZUCKER)
At the already high-yielding location in Hameln, the 3- or 4-time application of PHOTON® resulted in a considerable increase in beet yield and, consequently, a significant increase in sugar yield (adjusted) with very good overall sugar contents.
